For new construction projects, the hinge can be installed by drilling a 35mm cup, 11mm deep, and positioning it 2.5mm from the edge of the door, as shown in the Dimension picture (K + 2.5mm).

For retrofit applications, if you have a Salice hinge that mounts with one screw to the faceframe and is stamped "1-3/8" on the arm, and the holes that mount to the door match the hole placement pictured (note that some Salice hinges have a different hole pattern on the door), this will be an easy hinge swap as all holes align. If you have the Salice hinge with 2 screws that mount to the frame and it's stamped "1-3/8", you can still swap them, but you will need to drill new holes to mount the hinge to the frame.

This hinge can also be used to retrofit some other hinges, but you will need to verify the measurements to ensure compatibility. Accurate measurements are critical, and the dimensions provided are in metric.

The first measurement to consider is the door overlay. The door overlay must be 1-3/8". Measure your door, then measure the opening it covers. Subtract the door width from the opening width and divide the result by two. The result must be 5/8".

The second measurement is the depth of the 35mm cup drilled for the hinge on the door. Measure from the edge of your door to the edge of the cup, and it must be 2.5mm for this hinge to work. If it is greater than 2.5mm, the door will rub on the frame as it is opened or closed.

The third measurement is the spacing between the hinge-to-door mounting screws, which must be 45mm center-to-center.

The fourth measurement is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the screw mounting hole, which must be 29.5mm.

This SALICE Soft Close Hinge with Motion control switch has a 1-3/8" overlay. To adjust the dampening effect, set the lever to zero for a LOW setting, or to one for a HIGH setting.

The hinge offers six-way door adjustment: up, down, in, out, right, and left.
