This hinge can be used for new construction or to retrofit current construction. For new construction, drill a 35mm cup 11mm deep, 2.5mm from the edge of the door. In the dimension picture, add 2.5mm. For retrofit applications, if you have a Salice hinge that mounts with one screw to the face frame and is stamped 1" on the arm, and the holes that mount to the door match the hole placement pictured, this will be an easy hinge swap as all holes match. If you have the Salice hinge with 2 screws that mount to the frame and it's stamped 1", you can still swap them, but you will have to drill new holes to mount the hinge to the frame. This can be used to retrofit some other hinges, but you will have to verify some measurements to see if they will work. Accurate measurements are critical, and dimensions from the manufacturer are metric. The first measurement requires the door overlay to be 1/2". Measure your door, then measure the opening it covers. Subtract the door width from the opening width and divide by two. The result must be 1". The second measurement requires a 35mm cup drilled for the hinge on your door. Measure from the edge of your door to the edge of the cup; it must be 2.5mm for this hinge to work. If it is greater than 2.5mm, the door will rub on the frame as the door is opened or closed. The third measurement requires the hinge to door mounting screws to be spaced 45mm center to center. The fourth measurement requires the hinge to door mounting screws to be 29.5mm from the edge of the door to the center of the screw mounting hole.

This SALICE Soft Close Hinge comes with a motion control switch and has a 1" overlay. The switch allows you to dampen the effect to low by setting the lever to zero, or to high by setting the lever to one. It also offers six-way door adjustment: up, down, in, out, right, and left.
